Primary STEM Challenge Regional Heats

Primary 6 pupils Matthew, Adrian, and Eva were pleased to represent Christ the King Primary School at the Primary STEM Challenge Heats on Tuesday 5th March 2013. The challenge was to build the tallest structure possible that could support a weight of 250 grams for a minimum of 30 seconds. They were only allowed to use materials like newspaper, card, masking tape, straws, pipe cleaners and blue tack. The three pupils had great fun planning and designing their model, working as team and trying out their structure with the weight. It made them realise the importance of buildings like the Eiffel Tower, and how they are designed to serve their purpose.
