Year 6 - Saving Energy

Year 6 - Saving Energy

During this term, Primary 6 enjoyed learning about Saving Energy as their class topic. One of the areas which they focused on was ways in which to reduce their carbon footprint and by creating posters, they are now more aware of the things that they need to do to have a smaller footprint. The pupils also worked in groups creating renewable energy villages, reusing old materials and through discussions, identified the pros and cons of all renewable and non-renewable energy sources. In addition, Primary 6 linked this topic with Maths, organising and interpreting data from a survey showing recycling and brown bins emptied in our school and also montiored the amount of energy used in our school each month and identifying ways to lower electricity meter readings!
