Armagh Planetarium
On Wednesday 8th April, Primary 6 pupils went to visit Armagh Planetarium.
It was a fun day out as we entered the dome to learn lots of facts about the Sun, Moon, Planets and Stars. It was class the way the Planets were moving and we were able to visualise ourselves standing on the moon and Mars. By completing a quiz and getting all the answers right, we then got to take part on a rollercoaster ride through the Solar System. It was amazing!
Also in pairs we got to make a rocket using an empty two litre coke bottle, a small rock, and a range of other art materials. We fired these rockets by filling them half full with water and using a pressure gauge, they rocketed into the air. We had a competition which rocket could go the greatest distance.
This was an exciting day out as not only was it enjoyable, but linked appropriately with our P6 topic about Space.
