Back to School
We are delighted to welcome all children back to school for the new school term on Tuesday 1st September. The health, safety and well -being of all children, staff, parents and the wider school community continues to be of paramount importance and is central to all the decision- making plans and arrangements we have put in place.
Return to School Arrangements:
Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling unwell or if your child is displaying any COVID -19 symptoms they MUST NOT ATTEND school. If your child complains of feeling unwell or has a high temperature 37.7°C or above, parents will be contacted.
Tuesday 1st September:
During September we will not be able to offer breakfast or after school provision. This will be reviewed at the end of September. Children are asked to come to school no earlier than 8.45am as there is no supervision until then. As we are unable to have assembly each morning, on arrival at school, all pupils will wash their hands in the designated areas before entry to the classroom. Classes will operate in 'Social Bubbles.' Break and lunch times will be arranged to ensure that only members of that class play together. Written homework will be sent home weekly commencing 14th September and will be returned to school on a Thursday or Friday. Further details will be provided by your child’s class teacher. Due to limited space in the canteen only those children entitled to Free School Meals will be able to avail of this service. Packed lunches can be brought to school in a wipeable lunch box. On P.E. days children will wear their P.E. uniform to school with their school jumper or cardigan. Days for P.E. will be given by your child’s class teacher.
What my child needs to bring to school …… Pupils are asked to wear their full school uniform each day. (tracksuit bottoms / leggings are not allowed). Please bring a coat / jacket to wear outside at breaktime. A piece of fruit for snack and a water bottle labelled with your child’s name. A packet of tissues (which will be kept under child’s desk). A packet of Colouring Pencils – labelled with your child’s name, these will remain in school. All other items of stationery will be provided in school so a pencil case is not required. School bags are not required until further notice. Lunch can be brought in a washable lunch box/ lunch bag.
Home- time arrangements will be staggered. (Will be under review)

All parents will be required to remain outside the school playground when collecting children from school. Entrance to the school building will be by prior arrangement or appointment only. To minimise the numbers congregating at the front of the school, thereby ensuring social distancing, children in Years 3-7 who are being collected by car, or who walk to Strathroy / Shergrim will be brought to Christ the King Church carpark by staff. We would ask that when collecting your child/ children that you are mindful of others and adhere to the speed limit 5mph.
Children in Yrs 1 & 2 will continue to be collected from the back door of the school. All school correspondence e.g. newsletters will be through Twitter, Text, Class Dojo (Nursery, Yrs 1, 2 & 3) and the school website. We would ask that all parents sign up to the appropriate app. Any forms which need completed e.g. data collection, permission form, milk etc will be sent out via a text link.
