We are following the Read, Write, Inc programme which is EXCELLENT and we are super excited to see what narrative and non-narrative texts are in store this year!

Numeracy:

We will be learning lots about Processes in Maths, Number, Data Handling, Measures and Shape and Space.

Religion:

Year 7 is a very important year as we will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. We will be working closely with Fr. Daniel and Fr. Kevin to make sure we are well prepared for this special day.

World Around Us:

This year we will be studying;

  • The Irish Potato Famine

  • The Victorians

  • Celebrations

  • Rainforests and Fair Trade

  • Forces and Energy

These exciting topics will mean there will be lots to keep us busy and lots of cross curricular links to enjoy.

Personal Development and Mutual Understanding:

We all love PDMU because we get to explore our personal and emotional development, health and safety, relationships with others, and how we can all work together for the good of our community. We get to use our PATHS strategies for problem solving.

I.C.T:

ICT is every Wednesday. We will be completing a number of exciting activities across the curriculum this year looking at lots of new and exciting technologies, including animation, web-design, programming, online collaboration, spreadsheets and presentation using laptops, iPads, cameras, microphones and eLearning platforms.

The Arts:

All of the Arts will be delivered through our World Around Us topic. We are also looking forward to Music classes with Mrs Sweeney.

We are looking forward to a BRILLIANT year together and invite you to come and view our beautiful classroom so you can see for yourself all our hard work….
